Battlestar Gacracktica
I'm finally on the train, and I love it, down to the last detail. I like the poignant theme song, the prominence of the women, the ethical, epistemological, and existential questions raised by the Cylons and the issue of artificial intelligence in general, the beautiful washed-out cinematography in some scenes, ALL OF IT. I'm almost through season 2 now.

That Toon Is Hilarious, But I Want Olmos!
I keep warning myself NOT to see any episodes, because I completely missed out on Season 1 and would have only come in Season 2 midway. From the near-universal acclaim it's gotten, I figure that it should be viewed in sequence, relatively close together, on DVD. BTW, when I did that with Lost (Season 1), I discovered that it was a deeply crappy show.

What are you waiting for? Get the BSG miniseries/pilot first, before season 1.
Sorry About That
I often wonder what sort of Faustian bargain JJ Abrams entered into to make people think he could write for or cast leading characters (with the exception of Sayid and John Locke). And I will pick up the miniseries first, as soon as my losing streak in Parcheesi-for-money turns around.

we just started watching season 1 this week and have become completely hooked. glad to know we're not the only ones out there devouring the DVDs. Tonight our video store was out of the third disk of season 1, and we stumbled around blindly, not knowing what to do next...
