My Personality Has Changed

I just re-took the Myers-Briggs (with a twist of Jung) Personality Inventory after taking it a few years ago and
found out that my personality has changed! I used to be an ENFP (Extroverted, Intuitive, Feeling, Perceiving), which is also called a "idealist/champion" in this test's terms. Now I am an ESFJ (Extroverted, Sensing, Feeling, Judging), also called "guardian/provider." Here's another description of ESFJ.

The test said that I am a:

* distinctively expressed extrovert
* slightly expressed sensing personality
* moderately expressed feeling personality
* slightly expressed judging personality

If you'd like to take the test, here it is.

So What's Your Trauma?

Seriously, though, Clancy . . . usually, our personality types change when we're under stress, forcing us into our "shadow" . . . Are you writing a book/dissertation? Take exams? Starting a new job? or were you in a high stress moment last time you took the exame? Curious . . .

I use personality type a lot with teacher training (to give student-teachers a rhetoric for handling conflict with their cooperating teachers and such) and find it really useful . . .

Thanks for the link, Clance...

ENFJ here, as if you didn't already know that.

Let's see...I was working on

Let's see...I was working on my master's degree at the University of Tennessee (in Knoxville) the first time I took the test. I was a lot more embroiled in my own drama than I am now--or perhaps now I have no drama in which to be embroiled. So it's probably the first thing you said. All the things that took place with that particular circle of people in Knoxville...wow. Lots of head games and resultant anxiety. Are you saying I've been an ESFJ all along, and the ENFP was my "shadow" self? How very Twin Peaks. I was somewhat Laura Palmer-like in those days, heh.

ENFP and Laura Palmer

Well, to really know Laura Palmer, you had to have read her diary. Twin Peaks fans was multimedia, not just on tv. In her diary, she was much more judging than perceiving. She was different in her diary than she was in the show . . . then again, she spent a lot of her show-spots wrapped in plastic *shudder* Glad to see you're not like her any more.

Maybe grad school changed you . . . .

Yeah, I wasn't like Laura Pal

Yeah, I wasn't like Laura Palmer in the TV series, more like Laura Palmer in Fire Walk with Me.
