Song Poll

One of those cute email surveys sent by a friend:

1. Name one song you hate to admit you like.

Here are three (how embarrassing):

"I'll Be"--Edwin McCain
"A Thousand Miles"--Vanessa Carlton
"Mmmmm Bop"--Hanson

2. Name two songs that always make you cry.

"A Case of You"--Joni Mitchell
"Romeo and Juliet"--Indigo Girls (NOT the Dire Straits version. Only Amy Ray infuses it with that intensity.)
An honorable mention is "The Circle Game" by Joni Mitchell
(Edited to add "I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues" by Elton John)

3. Name three songs that turn you on.

"Is It a Crime"--Sade
"Peel Me a Grape"--Diana Krall
"Let Me Blow Your Mind"--Eve featuring Gwen Stefani

Honorable Mentions: "Righteously"--Lucinda Williams
"Genie in a Bottle"--Christina Aguilera
(Edited to add "Rock Your Body" by Justin Timberlake)

4. Name four songs that always make you feel good.

"Dogs and Chaplains"--Mighty Mighty Bosstones
"I Wanna Be Sedated"--Ramones
"Welcome to Atlanta"--Jermaine Dupri
"Middle of the Road"--The Pretenders

Honorable mentions--"Ask"--the Smiths
"Born to Run"--Bruce Springsteen

5. Name five songs you couldn't ever do without.

"Sweet Home Alabama"--Lynyrd Skynyrd
"A Boy Named Sue"--Johnny Cash (written by Shel Silverstein! Did you know that?)
"Head Over Heels"--The Go-Gos
"Hypnotize"--Notorious B.I.G.
"The Light"--Common

Honorable mentions: "These Boots Are Made for Walkin'"--Nancy Sinatra
"Hit Me With Your Best Shot"--Pat Benatar (Those are my big karaoke numbers; of course they have to be here!)

A few of mine

I'll admit it, too. I kinda like "I'll Be." ;-)

"You're a Big Girl Now" by Bob Dylan and "I Don't Know Why" by Shawn Colvin make me cry.

Feel good? "I Wanna Be Sedated" of course. "I Feel Free" by Cream.

Can't live without? "Anna Begins" by Counting Crows, "Leaving Las Vegas" by Sheryl Crow, "How Soon is Now" by The Smiths, "Desperately Wanting" by Better than Ezra. This list could go on and on.

Cindy

yep anna begins is a gem :)

yep anna begins is a gem :)

i guess when i'm down i try to listen to lene marlin and lighthouse family and sarah mclachlan... The sunday's summertime perks me up too.

i can't live without:
lene marlin's where i'm headed,
mad season's river of deceit,
sarah mclachlan's building a mystery...

i guess that's my life's soundtrack ^_^
