Possible blog break

I'll be at CCCC until Saturday, so I might not post again until then, unless there's any way possible that I can get internet access.

Another interesting Foucault point

I think it is interesting to note Foucault's ideas on resistance to the power that men hold over women, or that men hold over homosexuals, or any select group, for that matter. To begin, he argues that power is not a force, but rather an idea. It is attached to the knowledge one has of a specific concept/person/picture, etc, but also runs parallel to how the concept/person/picture is able to resist to the power one holds. For example, if a homosexual refers to him/herself as "fag," it immediately appropriates the power from the offender and places the power of the word on the homosexual him/herself. Delegitimization leads to disempowerment of the offender.
