Shrimp Experimentation
I went ahead and added a "Food & Cooking" category, since I appear to be in the midst of a cooking kick. Here's tonight's concoction: Shrimp, half a Vidalia onion, a pinch of red pepper flakes, a pinch of minced garlic, salt and pepper, and--on a whim--a handful of sunflower seeds, all sautéed in olive oil (until the onions caramelized). It might sound a little iffy, but it was great. As an appetizer, I had an Ataulfo mango, also known as a champagne mango. For dessert? You guessed it.

Cooking Craze
I'm off cooking so it's just torture for me to come here and see what delectable concoctions you have going on. And I'm trying *really really* to stay off cooking!

What for?
I'm confused; why are you trying to stop cooking? Do you want B. to do more of it? :) I'm going to try to cook more often since I'm saving money this way. I got the shrimp on sale: a portion that would have cost me upwards of $12.00 in a restaurant for only $3.50. If I didn't shop at such a bourgeois grocery store, I'd save even more money. I'm thinking about doing once-a-month cooking to save yet more.
Cooking. We love it! Why Stop?
Yes, I'd like it if B cooked more. But I know that I am difficult to please. All I can offer from my point of view is that I've been very stupid to try to do so much for so long.

Saying "no"
Good for you! I know you're not talking about doing this, but I know I also do more than I should, and I've sometimes thought it would be cool to go on strike from at least one of my projects. \m/
Saying "no"
Not to shamelessly plug myself, but here is the original explanatory rant.

Now what do I do?
Great, it's 11:50 and now I want shrimp -- with a Vidalia onion no less! (I'm from Louisiana, and we eat them for snacks there).
But even in San Francisco, I don't think I'll be able to find anything like the dish you describe at this hour.
