Vitae Revision

I've spent a good deal of time today tweaking my CV after attending a job search workshop in my department. I've updated my "Conference Presentations" category, taken out most of the bulleted lists, added a couple of items under "Professional Activities," and added two categories: "Invited Presentations" and "Interviews." I do presentations at colloquia and workshops here at the University of Minnesota, and I've done a few interviews with news publications, but before the workshop I assumed no one would care about that stuff, and it would look like I'm padding my vitae. However, I stand corrected: Everyone urged me to put it on there, so there it is. If any of you have other suggestions for how I should arrange and present the material, feel free to let me know; I'd appreciate the feedback.

This is a small thing, to be sure, but your invited presentations are ordered past-to-present while the other categories are the reverse. Other than that, it looks really solid...

Oh!

Thanks. I'll fix that.

While you love blogs, I would

While you love blogs, I wouldn't put it first under research interests. There are no jobs for weblogs. Rhetoric and Composition goes first if that is the job type you want.
Then if you are open to tech comm jobs, put that second. Or whichever order you like.
I'd drop the interviews lower. They aren't going to sway someone greatly.
Professional Activities seems more important
List references.
Do you have something you'll send out to a print journal? One pub in a print journal will be helpful to you when you go on the market.

Points taken

I put Gender and Computer-Mediated Communication instead of Weblogs and switched the Interviews and Professional Activities sections. I'm working on revising a couple of things to send to journals; hopefully I'll have some journal articles by Fall 05 when I go on the market. I would like to list references, but I want to ask my committee members if it's okay before I put their contact information here (I know anyone can search the UMN directory and find it, but still). Thank you both for the comments.
