Middle Two Weeks of October
For two weeks, I encouraged students to blog about their research topics in an effort to do a little focus-group style surveying of their audience. They blogged about their topics, soliciting comments from others about, first, how much they knew about the topic, and second, if they already had an opinion on it. They responded to their classmates' posts, offering what I thought was great feedback, which the students then were able to work into the audience analysis section of their research prospectuses.
