What is hip?
Yeah, I should have explained what I had in mind when I said "hip." When I think of hip, I think of, for example, people like Elliott Smith, Cat Power, They Might Be Giants, Portishead, Wilco, Silver Jews, Blonde Redhead, etc. most of which send me into fits of mock sobbing. For more, see this thread.
The whole thing is embarrassing, really. Smart people like the examples of hip I referenced. I just don't get it, I guess.
