Question re: daily writing prompt

Have any of you ever asked students to write a Celebrity Vs. Thing as an in-class exercise? If so, how did it go?

interesting idea . . .

But I have a feeling some of my comp students might be intimidated by the quality of writing they find for examples. I don't know that I could write so eloquently about Johnny Depp and Chocolate, but maybe about bicycles and, hmmm, not "The Lance" but Sheryl Crow maybe? It seems a good exercise for working on detail and description for fyc, along with comp/con as well. And students should get a giggle out of it. If I give it a go, I'll let you know.
