63% of doctors support a public option?
The New England Journal of Medicine would seem to be the more reliable source, but then again, we know that the American Medical Association isn't in favor of a public option, or they want to be sure they can opt out of accepting it, at least.

Possible?
It is possible to fall into both categories. You can want a public option but oppose Obama's construction of it. I have heard people who hate the president's plan but because it doesn't go far enough. So they would oppose it while wanting a different kind of public option.
I'm not saying that there's not a contradiction here or that doctors are the ones who feel both. Just saying it is possible to feel both.

Good points. I don't know very many doctors, but my sense is that most of the ones I've been around are Republican and politically conservative.
